The Best Social Media Podcasts

Keeping up with the Kardashians fast-paced world of social media is NO joke!

New trends, new updates, or new guidelines in an eye-blink. It almost makes you not want to blink anymore.  What today works, might not tomorrow. As a digital native and social media manager myself, I even admit that it's overwhelming at times.

But remember: You can't win on every social media platform.

It's better to focus on 1-2 channels. Experiment and find out how to master them. Inspire, educate or entertain your audience with your content and build a community. That's how you win. Don't try to be present on every channel. Building a strong social media presence on one single platform already requires a considerate amount of effort, time, and resources. Imagine building a presence on every major platform out there. And if building a presence is not your intention, then why are you on social media?

The real art of social media is not to build a massive following on every platform. But to build a sense of community and fans on one. Once you're able to achieve that, you can move to the next platform.

Did you know that 51% of people unfollow brands on social media is because they post irrelevant content? The no. 1 reason is poor customer service with 56%. This is only a 5% difference. The content you put out is almost as important as the customer service you provide via social media. That's a huge insight and stresses the importance of creating high-quality content once again.

So which channel do you need to pick? Ask yourself the following question "Where is my audience present?". If you're still not sure, feel free to contact me and I'd love to help you out.

Without further ado, here are few ways I keep up with the ever-changing social media landscape:

1️⃣ I've subscribed to a lot of social media and marketing-related newsletters.

2️⃣ On social media platforms, I follow either the original platform accounts or other reliable accounts that post about the updates on the platform. For example, on LinkedIn, I follow the original LinkedIn page.

On Instagram, I'd recommend following @ceators. It's an official Instagram account that posts about the most recent changes, tips on how to implement them, case studies, and more. They also have an interesting FAQ highlight where they explain why they're not going back to the "chronological feed" that a lot of users have been asking back. Or how much they update the algorithm.

3️⃣ And a 3rd way is by listening to social media (marketing) related podcasts. There are a lot of great podcasts out there. Here are some of my favorites. They provide me a lot of insights, information, and inspiration to elevate my social media strategies and those of my clients. Check them out below.
